The Wabi Sabi Studio is an eclectic and art-filled 700 sq. ft. cabin with 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. Floor to ceiling windows overlook a meandering creek, forested hills, and HomeGrown HideAways, a hundred-acre farm, campground, and event facility. The resident cat, Glenda, won't be much company since she is very shy, but you may catch sight of her if you're lucky. Guests have complete access to the farm, including the rugged 1.5 mile hiking trail. TWO PEOPLE MAXIMUM. NO CHILDREN.

Die Unterkunft
The Wabi Sabi Studio is part of HomeGrown HideAways, a hundred-acre farm, campground, and event facility featuring treehouses, yurts, tipi, a playground, and a covered pavilion plus gardens, orchard, chickens, and dogs. The neighbors goats occasionally wander over for a visit and there are tons of wild birds to watch.

Zugang für Gäste
Feel free to wander around the farm and check out the scenery. There is a 1.5 mile hiking trail that encompasses the property along with a variety of side-trails (be sure to watch out for poison ivy!). The farm has a small playground with swings for the kids (and kids at heart). There are also have two disc golf baskets and discs plus a croquet set you are welcome to set up. If you're feeling adventurous, Get Outside Ky is just 6 miles away and rents kayaks for exploring the nearby reservoirs.

I request that you please not use the washing machine during your visit since we are on a graywater system, but otherwise you can make yourself at home.

Weitere wichtige Hinweise
We have very poor internet and little to no cell reception so be prepared to be unplugged during your stay. There is a land line for you to make calls.

There is a cat that lives in the cabin, but you are not likely to see her. She was a rescue and is very shy around strangers. Please keep the doors closed so she doesn't escape.

Lage

Berea, Kentucky, Vereinigte Staaten

HomeGrown HideAways is on a 2 mile dead-end road, nestled in the foothills of the Appalachians. Tater Knob pottery is less than 2.5 miles from the farm. If you don't want to drive, it's a nice walk or, if you happen to have your bike with you, you can go for a ride. Tater Knob open Monday - Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed New Year's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Speaking of bikes, HomeGrown HideAways is just a short jaunt away from the TransAmerican Bicycle Trail. During the summer, you are quite likely to see folks riding through the hills and enjoying the scenery. Sometimes they even come stay with us!

Prepare to UNPLUG. No cell service, no wifi, just nature (but you can easily find us on the world wide web)! HomeGrown HideAways is a hundred-acre holler near Berea, Ky. It is owned and operated by Nathan & Jessa Turner, Jessa's mom, and a variety of pets and wildlife. All guests have access to our Courtesy Kitchen which has a telephone, COFFEE, and all major appliances (oven, stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, sink, and a few dishes). It's nothing glamorous, but it can beat trying to cook on a fire in the rain! We'd definitely encourage you to go into Berea for some of the great food options there. We have a hiking trail, several fire pits, and are just 6 miles from Get Outside Ky where you can rent kayaks. We do not have tv, internet, or cell reception. There are as many stars as there are bugs so come prepared for both! The farm's bath house is open from April through October (or whenever temps remain above freezing for an extended period of time) and features 4 flush toilets and 2 solar-heated showers. Winter guests can use one of our three, luxurious outhouses, but won't have access to showers. We ask that you leave your pets at home, but you are welcome to snuggle ours. If you don't like dogs, our place may not be a good fit for you since our critters get pretty excited to meet new guests and may jump on you (we promise we're working on training). For those with service animals (ESAs are not allowed), please be aware that there are coyotes, hawks, and other wildlife that might be a danger and we cannot guarantee how our dogs might react to your assistant. Please chat with us ahead of time to make sure we're the right option for you. We love sharing our beautiful farm and hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
