The Algoods were incredible hosts and shared their fantastic home with us for a night. While they are truly "off the grid", the comforts weren't compromised. And you can't beat the views from their breakfast room!
Fabulous place to be: elegant, clean, comfortable. The beauty of the land, sea and sky, magical. Holly and Ayala have integrity with their vision for Kohala Koi, and in their sharing of it. If you love beautiful and quiet places you will embrace staying there as we did.
We loved staying at the Algoods property! It had everything we needed, was clean and comfortable. Plus, the breakfast in the morning was delicious and included great conversation. They are conveniently located to the town of Hawi which is quaint and has great food options (try Sushi Rock & Sweet Potato kitchen if you eat in town). We definitely recommend staying at the Algoods and we will be back! Mahalo.
Nice place to stay, very private. The TV had a lot of channels to chose from. Would recommend to others.
This was our first Airbnb experience, and what a great place to start! It was exactly as described, and Holly and Eila were very welcoming hosts. We were particularly drawn to the rural setting and the Eco friendly property. We totally enjoyed the scrumptious breakfasts of organic eggs, fruit, toast, gluten free nibbles, tea and coffee. Fantastic restaurants are located only a few minutes away in the Main Street of Hilo. There are also amazing beaches half an hour away.
Our hosts were incredibly gracious and welcoming. The property is so peaceful, the architecture inspiring and it was fun to interact with the cats and dogs. We thoroughly enjoyed our time sharing breakfast with them. Learning about their eco-friendly lifestyle and leadership was an unexpected plus.
If you're considering spending some time on the northern end of the big island, don't think twice and reserve a couple of nights here.
