Fully furnished studio in an eight unit building with good vibe. Character building with high ceilings, hardwood floors, French windows, air conditioning, TV/DVD, cable (no SHO/HBO), wireless internet, printer/scanner, ipod dock/radio. Includes linens and housewares (toaster, microwave, coffee maker, blender on request, iron, hairdryer). Full kitchen with small eat-in area. Newer full sized bed, coin-operated laundry on site. Shared yard and patios.
Looking for quiet, non-smoker who will be respectful of other tenants. Utilities and cable/ internet included.
On the border of Echo Park and Silver Lake, centrally located to Hollywood, Downtown and all that Silver Lake has to offer--walk to boutique shops, restaurants, farmers market. 1 1/2 blks to transportation. Close to Silver Lake Reservoir walking path and newly opened Meadow picnic area.
No pets. No Smoking except in lower yard.
Parking- There is one uncovered and unsecured spot in the rear alley that is shared by two units and is available on a first come basis. If a spot is open you can take it, if not, then street parking does not require a permit and has no restrictions except the city wide 72 hr. limit.
No amplified musical instruments or singing. This is a 1920's building and excessive noise will be a problem.
Must be respectful of other tenants, no party types please
Air conditioning is available, however, leaving it on all day while you are away so the unit will be cool when you arrive home is not considered reasonable use
Joanne was great - really good communication and her lovely, clean place in Silver Lake was a wonderful place to stay whilst I was in town. It's a great Studio with a nice kitchen, bathroom and a cute little walk-in wardrobe. I had a couple of chilly nights in and took advantage of the heat - which came in very useful!
I was lucky enough to stay in Joanne's apartment for the better part of 5 months.
Joanne was an obliging and kind host. Arrival was easy and she was always available when needed - even when I locked myself out. Joanne offered extra sheets and blankets whilst I was there.
The room is exactly as advertised. It was perfect for one person. It is bright, well-equipped and with a bit of character. The block is quiet and I was never disturbed by other tenants. I had access to a shared parking space but it was rarely used by others. Even so, there was ample parking on the street.
As a neighbourhood, I can't speak more highly of SIlver Lake. It's not the touristy LA. The immediate area has a weath of coffee shops, restaurants and bars. It's quick and easy to get to Griffith Park and Silver Lake Reservoir for exercise and the rest of the city is a freeway ride away.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Joanne as a landlord and her place as a great place to stay.
Joanne was an excellent host, and she was very accommodating, especially about scheduling. Move-in and move-out were a breeze. And best of all -- the apartment is true to the pictures!
A few smaller details that perhaps some of you might care about:
1. Perhaps it was nothing more than good luck, but every time I tried to use the spot in the back of the building, it was available. 100% of the time.
2. For those of you who care about internet reliability and speed, the connection in the apartment is fast and uptime is solid. I was regularly getting download speeds of over 10Mbps. The wireless router was an Apple Airport model with RJ-45 jacks on the back, in case you want to go wired.
3. The water pressure in the shower was terrific. And the hot water was nice and hot.
Thanks, Joanne, for making my experience a good one.
Everything was great! Joanne made staying here easy. I'd stay here again.
I stayed in this studio for around six weeks. By the time I left it very much felt like home. The furnishings are impeccable - lovely mid-century dresser and desk and a few other key accessories. The kitchen is adorable and very well stocked with everything one would need. Although it is a studio, the kitchen has a nice eat in area, there is a dressing area which also house an in-house printer. Everything was very clean. The location is excellent, perched on the edge between Silverlake and Echo park it was perfect for accessing the freeways and for dining. I'd highly recommend the place!

My husband and I have been local realtors for over 25 years. This is a building that we have done extensive work to and take pride in keeping it well-maintained. It was built in the 1920s but with upgraded plumbing and electrical it functions as a newer building. When remodeling we took care to maintain the original character of the building.
