Westfield, situated just ten minutes’ walk from the ancient town of Yarmouth, is an ideal bungalow for relaxing holidays. There is a bright spacious open plan living area, with 2 good sized bedrooms and walk-in shower. The pretty large rear garden is an ideal place to sit and relax after exploring the beautiful coastline of the West Wight.
Just a short stroll from the bungalow are numerous footpaths and cycle routes. The beaches at Sandhard and Fort Victoria are less than ten minutes’ walk as is Fort Victoria Country Park with its lovely woodland walks and spectacular views of the Solent. Cycle hire is available in Yarmouth and the cycle way from Yarmouth to Freshwater is along the route of the former railway line. This follows the River Yar, which attracts walkers and bird watchers alike and leads to the Red Lion pub, perfect for relaxing on a lovely summer evening.
Yarmouth has many pubs and restaurants and is full of history. Henry VIII built Yarmouth Castle as coastal defence and it is open throughout the season. The Town Hall, rebuilt in 1764 stands in the Square and was once used as a meat market until 1888. St.James Church (c1614) contains a fine white marble statue of Sir Robert Holmes, Governor of the Island in the late part of the 17th century.
Being so conveniently located, those seeking peace and quiet with miles of coastline and countryside to enjoy, Yarmouth is an ideal all year round resort. With the Lymington to Yarmouth car and passenger ferry docking in the harbour, holidaying with or without a car is easy. Other nearby places of interest and outstanding natural beauty include The Needles, Tennyson Down, Freshwater Bay where this is a golf course with spectacular views and Alum Bay with its coloured sands, chair lift to the beach and Pleasure Park.
