With a rustic feel and "Pinterest-like" design, Sunflower Canyon Casita nestles you in the Abiquiu Chama River Valley and red cliffs edging the Colorado Plateau. Stunning aspen-pine bedroom sets contrast with enchanting tones of turquoise and beige, both rooms hosting amazing feature walls. The quirky, rusty metal exterior is mimicked throughout the casita, transitioning fluidly. Walk to the Chama River, sit around the fire, hike Ghost Ranch, relax at Ojo just 35min away, and stay with us!

Die Unterkunft
Experience a one-of-a-kind designed space!

Bedroom one has the entry door and one queen bed, and the second bedroom in the back has one double bed. The Airbnb accommodates up to four people in total, though for comfortability with space, we recommend three or less. The front room has a privacy curtain, and the back room has a barn door. Thus, they are not sound proof but offer a barrier for privacy.

Smoking kind on the property is highly discouraged due to family sensitivities and asthma triggers. Absolutely NO smoking in or around buildings. If you do have to smoke, detailed use and disposal instructions may be found in the house manual after booking. Thank you for understanding this matter.

Dreams do come true! I found my home along the red cliffs near the Chama river where the ancient ones lived and left their marks on the rocks and artifacts on the land. My first adventure to New Mexico came in 1993 when our family came to camp at Ghost Ranch for what we thought was going to be a few nights. We stayed for two weeks! As a mother of four I was busy with the every day logistics of taking care of a family, but this place high on the Colorado Plateau allowed me the time and space to remember to do what I love and explore new areas of interest. I pulled out my guitar and started writing songs again, I played my violin after 20 years with the chamber music workshop group, I sat with world-famous to paleontologist Dr. Ned Colbert diving back into my education in paleontology, geology and archaeology. I picked up a welding torch for the first time in my life because it looked fun and I never put it down. I have been teaching art welding at Ghost Ranch now for over 20 years as a result and I am a metal design artist with my gallery in the dome in Abiquiu on HWY 84. I am a participant in the Abiquiu studio tour in October, which for me is a dream come true and a long time in the making. I often work at Ghost Ranch teaching and leading groups on adventures in the beautiful canyons surrounding the ranch and Abiquiu while discussing the geology, history and archaeology of the area. Sharing this land and space with those that come to Sunflower Canyon Casita through Airbnb has been a wonderful opportunity. I have met some wonderful people who enjoyed the peace and beauty of this area.
