PLEASE READ ALL PROPERTY DETAILS TO DECIDE IF THE CAMP/LOCATION FIT YOUR TRIP EXPECTATIONS - THANKS!

Camp Owl Pine is a vintage/modern camp adventure, it's a magical mix of nature at our 100 year-old property plus access to the village (you can walk to restaurants/shops). Since we are at the "top of town" you are not in backcountry wilderness, there are neighbors and the property is on a road.

Camp's designed to be a low-key/relaxing/inspiring experience away from the daily hustle and bustle. You can literally pack a bag and visit. Once here you'll enjoy camp vibes in our vintage trailer without having to schlep gear up the mountain.

The typical camping trip? First you'll reserve an asphalt patch at your chosen campground and then you have to find/buy/pack all your gear (cook stove, dishes, pantry items, linens/towels, propane, soap, chairs, lights, games, hammocks, etc.). At the end of that trip, you have to schlep it all back home. Camp Owl Pine saves you all this hassle so you can simply enjoy being outside!

Camp's lighting is powered by rechargeable batteries, the shower + deck heater both run on propane (supplied at camp). There is one available power cord in the trailer for the space heater (or to charge a phone, etc.).

Trail Chief pop-up trailer:
- Made in Michigan, it’s the only one we have ever found
- New memory foam mattress with wool/cotton topper, fresh sheets, down comforter, 4 pillows (plus Pendleton wool blanket & sleeping bag to spread out for colder nights)
- Small space heater (to run during non-sleep hours)
- Small fan for cooling (the trailer warms during spring/summer days similar to a tent)
- Extra lighting (inside string lights, lantern, etc.)
- Interesting books, Scrabble, Jenga, deck of cards
- Adventure Pass for parking at local trail heads/lakes + Nature Center pass

Redwood kitchen/hang deck:
- Vintage butterfly chairs
- Propane fire pit/ring
- 2 hammocks (in trees near deck) + dart board/darts
- Yeti cooler
- Camp stove + propane
- Sink w/ Dr. Bronner's soap
- Pans/utensils/chopping knife/cutting board/plates/cups/mugs
- Olive oil/instant pour over coffee/tea/salt/sugar/pepper/herbs/foil/hot sauce/matches
- String lights + lantern (all lighting is rechargeable battery-powered).

Bathroom zone:
- Enclosed hot shower under the trees w/ Dr. Bronners natural soaps
- Remember to pack flip flops for the redwood shower deck
- Towels + robe
- Sink / mirror
- Eco-lux composting toilet

The property undeveloped for almost 100 years features an unparalleled landscape:
- Listen to the crunch of leaves as you walk original rock paths down to Strawberry Creek
- Star gaze (Idyllwild is home to AstroCamp)
- Collect pinecones, leaves, forage wild mint, smell the dirt, commune w/ nature
- Spot animals including deer/birds/squirrels/raccoons/coyotes/lizards
- See boulders, pine, oak, cedar, fir, sequoia, wild cherry trees, manzanita, holly, etc.
- Depending on the season, discover wild strawberries, roses, Humboldt lilies, sweet peas, and more in this ever-changing environment

NOTES:
- Nightly rate includes a 10% regional tax
- Camp is located on the same property as our guest cabin (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/16379417) - a fun idea for two couples or a family is to rent both camp + the house. You can also read a spotlight on our property's history/camp on Hipcamp's Journal and in the LA Times.
- Full moon calendar (to help plan your trip for star gazing or moon watching!): - Full moon calendar (to help plan your trip for moon or star gazing!): June 5, July 5, August 3, Sept. 2, Oct. 1, Oct. 31, Nov. 30, Dec. 29...

Lage

Idyllwild-Pine Cove, Kalifornien, Vereinigte Staaten

Idyllwild (population 3,870/elevation 5,413') is known for fresh air, mountain vistas and is a hub for hikers along the 2,600 mile Pacific Crest Trail. San Jacinto mountain highlights include world-class rock climbing, mountain biking, and hiking.

- Perspective at Idyllwild’s Historical Society Museum
- Explore at The Nature Center
- Hike at Humber Park

The more time we spend camping, hiking and hanging out in nature, the more we believe in the "Leave No Trace" philosophy. It's such a bummer to see trash in places you expect to see leaves, dirt, rocks, etc. Please be thoughtful while exploring the surrounding mountains and hike out your garbage. Here at the property, trash/recycling can be left in the bins and is simply collected by housekeeping upon departure.

After a decade+ in LA's Silver Lake neighborhood we stumbled upon this property in Idyllwild. We fell in love with the landscape, put our place up for sell 10 days later and moved to the mountain. We work freelance gigs in business development and PR, volunteer in the community and love to explore nature, cook and adventure with the babes in our '73 Silver Streak trailer. Launching The Owl Pine has allowed us to meet amazing people and live in this magical location. Thanks for considering our place for your next adventure!
