My experience at Marcella's was wonderful! They are both incredible people - very welcoming, friendly and helpful! Communication with Marcella and her husband was prompt, they replied all my emails within an hour.
The room is spacious with high ceiling, very classy and I felt like I was living in a museum because there were quite a few precious ancient pieces. The room looks just like the pictures, it was actually better than the pictures when I entered into the room, you can see the attention and love that they put into the room from the details, such as the lamps and paintings. Also I had my own bathroom, a little bit small but quite enough for one person.
Location-wise, very convenient - it is only 5 mins walk from the main station Wien Hbf which gets you to almost everywhere. It is also right next to the Schloss Belvedere (there is a hop on stop should you visit the city by Hopon hopoff bus), and 15 mins walk from State Opera.
Overall, very good experience, I am sure I will visit them again if I am in Vienna and I will recommend it to everyone.
I had two days to spend in Vienna and stayed at a room offered by the hosts. The room is not the one that shows on the picture but the style is similar so altogether what I expected. There were two other guests accommodated in 2 other rooms in the apartment but I had a key to my room so I could maintain a good degree of privacy. The neighbourhood is quiet, with easy access to the city centre by public transport.
This is a beautiful room exactly as shown in the picture. 3/4 stops from state opera house on the tram and half block away from the tram stop. Very nice and friendly host , easy to chat with, they even share a bottle of champagne with us:) Can't ask for more, I will return in a heartbeat .
I was most impressed with this listing and the room was quite large and beautiful, not modern like many rooms listed, but antique and traditional, which suited my taste. I loved the curtains around the bed and the hosts were so nice that they drove me to the mobile phone store after my iPhone was stolen in Budapest. I could not believe they took the time out of their schedule for me and listened to my dilemma! The subway is not too far and it is a ways from the city center attractions by foot, but the charm of this apt. is worth it. You can also walk to the Belvedere, which is very nice. The host recommended that I visit the Arsenal, Military Museum, and that was a highlight of my two days return to Vienna. There was also a pitcher of water with a glass ready for me and coffee available whenever you want it from the coffee/espresso machine for one euro!!
This was a most pleasant stay for my girls and I would suggest this lovely place to everyone! You will have a great time in a fabulous location and have wonderful hosts! :)
