Located in beautiful Mt. Tabor. Each unit is mid-century modern. With wood floors, tiled kitchens and bathrooms. The location is fabulous. Restaurants, shopping and parks are close by. The close in location provides easy access to downtown via bike, bus or car.
The cottage is cozy, 420 sq. ft and accommodates two in a queen size bed. There is a fold down sofa in the living room. It is smaller than a full but larger than a twin. The kitchen is fully equipped with the necessities to stay in and cook. New Season's grocery is just down the street for last minute items. The hallway closet fits all luggage and clothes, as well as an iron and ironing board. There is an iHome that is compatible with iPhones and all iPods. It also serves as a radio and alarm clock. Free WiFi is provided and can be accessed on a Sony television with internet capability or on your own devices.
The bathroom is stocked with fluffy towels, body wash, shampoo and conditioner all Dove products.
These homes are considered self-housekeeping. You clean up after yourself, wash, dry and put away your dishes and take out the trash. The home must be returned to us in the condition that you received it in.
The cottage is a pet friendly home. Preference given to crate trained pets, current on vaccinations and obedience trained. Please provide us with a complete description of your animal including breed, age and weight prior to booking your reservation. Please include a photo with your profile.
Children and pets are counted as guests when making a reservation.

Check in by appointment between 4 - 6 pm. Check out prior to 11 am.
We park on the street. Street parking is free and plentiful. Usually within one or two blocks.
We cannot accept third party reservations. Please do not place inquiries for friends or family unless you are staying with them.
Rates and availability are subject to change.
There is no pro-ration allowance for additional guests or partial stays. When adding a guest to your reservation you will be charged a guest fee for the entire stay for the total number of guests accepted regardless of each individual guest's length of stay. Please consider that before inviting others.
One or two night stays may be accepted if reserved 24 hours for, one night, before check in. Or 48 hours before a two night stay. If there is an opening of one or two nights between existing reservations we will be happy to consider your reservation request. Please inquire.
This is a pet friendly unit. Pets must be pre-approved before booking.
Pets must be obedience or crate trained and not allowed on furniture or in the beds. We love well behaved pets and owners who care for them. Please do not use our home as a kennel while you explore Portland. If your pet displays seperation anxiety or barks excessively the owner will be responsible for finding lodging for the pet off premise. Pets must be accustomed to a community environment and be able to interact with other animals present on the property. Guest must vacuum before departure. We will provide a Dyson Animal for your use.
Television is capable of internet access as well as Comcast programming. Please do not change settings for internet. If you need help please ask. We are available to assist you 24 hours per day.
No bicycle storage within the units. Please secure bicycles in the basement.
Observe appropriate noise levels for the time of day. For example no loud music at night.
No smoking on the property or burning anything in the unit including but not limited to incense, scented candles, herbs, spices, marijuana or tobacco.
Guest agrees to abide by all written rules or verbal requests. Guest agrees to forfeit entire security deposit if they choose not to cooperate.
This home is self housekeeping and must be returned to us in the same condition that it was received.
Host reserves the right to move guest's reservation to another condo in the same complex if it is more advantageous to the host's schedule.
Policies and rates may be subject to change at the Host's discretion.
Violation of any house policies will result in the entire party being asked to leave with no refund due.
This was our first experience with an airbnb and we were very happy with the living space and location. It was very comfortable, charming and had everything we needed for our 6 day stay!
There seemed to be miscommunication with the host who apparently does not live on the premises. Sent email 24 HRS in advance giving a very approximate time of arrival. Arrived in rain after 7 HR trip, host was rude to my son who met me there and rude to myself saying I had called her and she had waited an hour ... This would have been challenging since I did not have her number ( as my phone log verifies) because the number she finally provided was left on my land line at home after I had left. It required a personal code to get in the front gate which she explained three times no one else could have - so, my son had to meet me on the street each morning. Parking was on the street and was at times difficult in the busy area. The shower water was just above tepid. Her rules required prior to leaving that the bed be stripped, sheets and towels placed in a closet basket and the floors cleaned. All of this was of course done and nothing left "disturbed". I could not recommend this unfriendly place with it's Gulag presence.
HOWEVER, I am grateful that my two dogs, my canary and myself were accepted into one of the pet friendly units. And there is great coffee, friendly service and bakery next door.
Ms. Wiley had never used Air BnB before and was very confused. Ms. Wiley did not seem to be a happy person. We did our best to please her but you "can't please 'em all".
She had issues during booking, communication issues and check in issues which could have been made easier for both the host and guest if Ms. Wiley had responded to attempts to schedule her check in. We check in by appointment in order to avoid these types of situations. Ms. Wiley had troubles using a cell phone and computer which made communication very difficult.
A host's contact information is provided on your Reservation Confirmation which can be accessed by clicking on your profile in the upper right hand corner of the screen and going to My Trips. It is always a good idea to obtain contact information prior to travel. When booking a guest should provide the telephone number that they will be using while they travel and when they stay with their host. Ms. Wiley provided a land line telephone number in her profile.
It was the only number that we had access to in order to try and reach her.
It seemed as if she did not get out very often and expected us to wait at the house for hours for her arrival, which we did. Some people should not stray from hotels.
This complex was completely re-piped last summer. We have had no complaints regarding the shower. Perhaps Ms. Wiley had difficulties adjusting the temperature in the shower. We are always a telephone call away if our guests need us. I can also imagine that if you keep all of the window coverings drawn tightly shut that it would be a bit dark inside. Ms. Wiley's window shades were never opened during her stay. This condo overlooks a lovely courtyard which is a pleasant view.
Our next door neighbor is a dentist but yes, there is a bakery within the block.
I am glad that they were able to please Ms. Wiley.
We ask our guests to accomplish three things before they leave. Wash, dry and put away the dishes that you use. Place your wet towels in a laundry basket and take out your trash. Anything else was Ms. Wiley's vivid imagination.
I find it curious that all of a sudden Ms. Wiley knows how to use a computer to write a negative review but could not use a computer or telephone to communicate with her host.
We absolutely loved our stay in the Pistachio Condo! The apartment was immaculate and very pretty, it was outfitted with everything we could possibly need, it was soooo comfortable, and it was perfect for a couple. Kim was a wonderful host. She was terrifically responsive and accommodating, even showing up at a moment's notice on a beautiful Saturday to clean the grill so we could use it. Our only regret was that we could not stay longer.
The Pistachio condo is well located, clean, well designed and very comfortable. A great place in a great neighborhood which felt very safe. Would definitely stay there again.
Kim was a highly responsive, friendly, and accommodating host. We booked a stay at the last minute and needed to find someone who would accept our dog. Kim got back to us right away and worked with us to make sure we could bring our fur baby along, even providing dog stuff for us upon request.
The space is super cute. Small but well laid out and full of little amenities to make our stay more comfortable. We loved the vintage styling of the Pistachio condo and appreciated the modern touches like super efficient heating and fast wifi. The condos are located right between two awesome neighborhoods, and we are planning to return so we have more time to explore both. Nearby is Mt. Tabor park, awesome for walking the pooch. Across the street is an old brothel turned bar with swanky cocktails. Along Hawthorne are plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops to keep you busy.
Kim was outside to meet us when we arrived after dark, and she could not have been a more gracious, welcoming host. Highly recommend booking a stay at Butternut, and we are looking forward to going back ourselves!
