An off-grid alpaca farm with a 1950's train carriage - the famous Red Rattler train.

Rustic farm stay 'glamping' style: Satisfying your craving for the outdoors and your penchant for a good meal, nice glass of wine, and a comfortable bed. Its nothing like a hotel, instead your room opens up to a beautiful landscape instead of a lobby.

Die Unterkunft
*Please note, this is an adult farm stay and not suitable for children or dogs.

We live in a small beautiful secluded valley surrounded by bushland. Our paddocks are the local Wollaroo favourites with good grass all year round. We grow seasonal produce, especially in autumn, spring and summer.

Our train deck is the perfect place to hang out and watch our alpacas, guinea fowl and chickens move about the farm totally surrounded by bushland and creek frontage.

Your stay includes a session of feeding the alpacas where you can take some wonderful photos with them and then hang out with them all day.

Bedroom 1 - Rustic Red Rattler 1950's Train cabin:
* Spacious bedroom with a comfortable queen bed.

Plus inside the train there is:
* Rustic (camp) kitchenette with 12-volt fridge and small gas hob,
* Undercover BBQ,
* Outdoor wood-fired pizza oven (book this in as we need 3 hours slow burn).
* Waterless-composting toilet,
* Glam bathroom with hot and cold shower facilities,
* Outdoor bath with hot and cold water,
* Lounge room with gas heater,
* 'Hang-out' deck overlooking the alpaca paddocks.
* Two outdoor comfy hammocks
* Two Yoga mats
* Kitchen has crockery, cutlery & BBQ utensils & fridge.
* Linen and Towels provided.

We are a 100% off-grid farm and the train is only 12-volt (limited electricity), so you can charge your mobile or torch but it's not suitable for hairdryers or coffee machines. The entire farm is OFF-GRID ie, limited electricity and no wifi.

The train is not insulated but there is a gas heater in the lounge area and lots of heavy doonas in the bedroom for winter - true 'glamping' style!

**Winter will be cold and summer can be hot inside and outside - so please be prepared for the elements as you would when camping.

We are not near the large vineyards they are 40 mins away. This is a getaway secluded off-grid farming experience and if you want crowds and vineyards go to Pokolbin.

Our train facilities have been hand-built using recycled and upcycled materials. We rummaged around Sydney to find 100-year-old timbers from a house in Balmain, old mirrors from the inner-west, an old laundry tub from the central coast, claw bath from Gladesville, and old doors from dad's shed.

We are a working farm so you will see us moving about the paddocks or working with the alpacas. You can get involved in as little or a much as you like. Our farm is secluded and great for a digital-detox plus its a great escape from all the touristy-attractions.

**Please note, this is an adult farm stay not suitable for children.
Please take the time to read our T&C's, guest access and also our guest book has a couple of recommendations in the valley. View our website blog for things to do in the valley.

Our aim is to operate in a way that minimizes our environmental footprint and we aim to leaves the natural environment in its original state if not better even after we are gone. So enjoy your glamping experience and take nothing but memories.

Little Valley Farm has been featured on the ABC Newcastle and Hunter Coastal Lifestyle magazine and best of all, it's a unique 'glamping' experience in Wollombi Valley.

~~Plant a Tree for every visitor stay~~
We plant trees all the time, for food, for the garden and to replenish our future timber needs on our 50-acre farm. But we also want to plant a tree for every visitor stay, as a way to remember all the great people who have stayed with us and also to ensure that every single visit to our off-grid farm is carbon neutral. The tree we plant we will sequest approx 10x more carbon over Its lifetime than the average 2-day visit & and overnight stay. Helps us plant the tree and we’ll be proudly putting your name on it too.

(Using Carbon Neutral Aust estimate of 15 trees to sequestered 1 ton per year. Carbon Footprint calculator for an average two day stay travel from Sydney in an average petrol car. There is of course high variability and extensive assumptions made in this rough figure. (Carbonfootprint.com, Carbonneutra l.com .au)

Zugang für Gäste
Road access is by standard 2WD & 4WD but you will need detailed directions. Our road is not suitable for motorbikes or minivans. It looks rough but any standard 2WD car can get up it.

Wedding pick up bus will have to pick you up and drop you off near our letterbox (1.2km). You will then need to drive to the train carriage.

We have limited wi-fi (unreliable) and there is no mobile reception in Laguna, which is a great excuse to unwind from it all. If you pop up to the house we can sort out the wi-fi and we have a fixed landline phone.

Weitere wichtige Hinweise
- We are totally off-grid and no mobile service in Laguna.
- No wi-fi on the farm but pop up to the house.
- The Train has limited 12-volt lighting. 240-volt access is possible on a sunny day up to 300W.
- Rainwater is harvested for the house, livestock & the produce we grow.
- Please shut all gates to protect our alpacas.
- Drive SLOW on our dirt track driveway - lots of wildlife and children on ponies.
- The wood-fired pizza oven takes 3 hours slow burn, so book it in 36 hours before your arrival date. Spring and Summer have total fire ban days so we need to monitor the weather for this.
- The train is NOT insulated nor the bedroom so it's cold in winter and hot in summer but its still a wonderful Glamping experience.
- Make sure your car is suitable for our driveway. Good for standard car and 4WD.
- Drone's filming requires our permission.
- Rain = mud so bring your gumboots for the farm and for concerts in Pokolbin.
- Be snake aware all seasons and wear closed shoes.
- Not suitable for children or dogs.
- You are 'glamping' on a sustainable farm so leave nothing but footprints & take only memories.
- Please ensure you take the time to read our T&C's or feel free to send us a query.
- Booking on this platform means you agree to our farm's liability waiver including our biosecurity conditions. A copy of which can be found on our website.

After spending nearly fifteen years working overseas and now back in Australia living on a little off-the-grid, 50 acre farm called Little Valley Farm. Our farm is located in Laguna close to the historical Wollombi Valley and only 90 minutes from Sydney and one hour from the central coast and Newcastle. We breed huacaya alpacas and grow turban garlic and roma tomatoes on our old lavender farm. Rustic farm stay glamping style: Satisfying your craving for the outdoors and your penchant for a good meal, nice glass of wine, and a comfortable bed. Its nothing like a hotel, but your room does open up to a beautiful landscape instead of a lobby. We have a rustic '50 red rattler train and a petite handmade Shepherd's Hut for guests to use as camping - glamping style! Its definitely rustic with a couple of glam touches such as the bathroom, outdoor tub and wood-fired pizza oven. Winter can be cold in the train and summer can be over 40 deg's but we have the outdoor bathtub to warm up or cool down. We love hosting on our farm and love meeting people who are interesting in living off grid and farm lifestyle. Little Valley Farm has been featured in various media outlets such as ABC Newcastle, Hunter and Coastal Lifestyle Magazine, Wine Selector and the ABC Radio. Visit our website to find out more or follow our (Hidden by Airbnb) and (Hidden by Airbnb) to see what we are currently working on. Daniela Little Valley Farm

As we are an off-grid farm, I will meet you at the train or our house to check you in. I will give you a quick tour of the kitchenette and also how the waterless-composting toilet works, 12V lighting plus a couple of other lovely features. Late night check-in not possible. We are a working alpaca farm so you will see us out on the paddocks attending to our chores.
