5 cozy tents await you on the top of mountain called Hamta, just 12km from Manali. Enjoy an Eagle's eye view of the valley while enjoying delicious home made kullu cuisine. Try BBQ & bonfire in the evening and explore the hidden valley by the day!

Die Unterkunft
The camp nestled on the top of Hamta ridge amidst apple orchards, consist of 5 private tents and rustic dining and lounge space around our restored 150 year old home which serves as the camp kitchen and our quarters.

The position of the camp is such that it receives the first of the sun rays in these parts and also the last of it, so one can enjoy sun shine all day while enjoying a birds eye view of the mountains. Sun and mountain view are 2 outstanding features of our camp.

Our home is traditional Kathkuni 2 storey structure with slate roof, characteristic of Kullu region. Till recently it was used to house cattle and was left in delipadated condition by the original owners, it was painstakingly restored by us 4 years back when we conceived the idea of a mountain camp.

Besides the house is the rustic dining and lounge space made from wooden planks recycled from old houses and trunks of dead trees from the surrounding forest. One can sit here all day and enjoy good food, sun shine and the mountain views.

A path leads from the dining area down to the tents. The 5 tents are spaced independently such that they offer privacy and unobstructed views. Each tent is full standing height, can accommodate 2-3 people and includes thick foam mattresses on the floor, quilts, extra blankets, light, charging point for your comfort. We strive to offer simple, rustic experience rather then luxury.

Zugang für Gäste
The guest has access to their private tents, dining and lounge area, orchards, and to our home. Feel free to explore.

No toiletries except for hand wash and toilet paper are available here. Please bring your own bathing soap, shampoo, and towel.

There is no WiFi available here. It's a remote village with no landline. But fortunately, Airtel offers excellent 3G mobile internet coverage here.

Electricity is plentiful and reliable in Hamta. Its available 24x7. There is an electric plug socket in the tent.

There is free-flowing mountain water available at the camp and it is safe to drink.

There is a wood-fired geyser connected directly in the bathroom so you can enjoy a hot water bath.

The exact location of the place will visible on the listing map after the booking is confirmed.

Clothing wise, during the day a t-shirt, fleece jacket, woolen cap, pants are fine. In the evening and mornings, you will need an additional insulating Jacket. The first couple of days requires more clothing but soon the body adjusts to environment. There may be rain and wind, so a waterproof jacket or poncho is good to have.

Hamta village is located 12 km from Manali at elevation of 2600m and is renowned due to the popular Hamta Pass and Hamta Circle treks. There are less then a dozen houses in the village and in winter most people move down to Prini. Only a few brave souls remain. Walking up half an hour from Hamta you will come to Sethan village which receives about 10 feet of snow in winters and its north facing slopes offer the finest and safest powder snow experience in Kullu valley.
