  • Segle auf dem Schoner „Fame“
Haul up the sails! Take the tiller! Or just chill out with a Rum Punch or Deacon Stormy while our historic schooner slides through Salem Sound past lighthouses, forts, and waterfront homes. The captain and crew will explain the significance of the FAME, privateering, and the War of 1812. The firing of the cannon is always a highlight! We'll motor out from Pickering Wharf Marina in downtown Salem and then call for volunteers to help raise the sails. Once the sails are up, depending on the wind, we may shape a course toward Beverly... or Marblehead... or head straight out toward the islands! Our interactive crew point out landmarks, explain the operation of the schooner, and mix drinks with equal facility! The sails last roughly an hour and forty-five minutes. When we return to Pickering Wharf, you're right in the heart of downtown Salem — perfectly placed for a meal, a drink, or a stroll! Other things to note We will not sail if steady rain, high winds, or thick fog are expected. Call ahead if you are unsure about the weather. Dress for the weather — you are exposed to the elements on our 1812 schooner! This is not a cruise ship or passenger ferry! This trip is not appropriate for infants or toddlers. But once kids are 4-5 years old, they really enjoy it!

  • Spaziergang durch Bostons Geschichte
We will start our tour at the Lenox hotel in the heart of the Back Bay neighborhood, and will end at historic Faneuil Hall where there are endless places to eat and explore after the tour. Not only will we visit the famous Boston Freedom Trail, but also hidden treasures not covered on other tours The Back Bay - Explore one of Boston's most famous neighborhoods. Home to some of Boston's most beautiful buildings such as the Boston Public Library and the Trinity Church. Boston Public Garden - Visit the beautiful gardens, and say hello to the Swan Boats, and the Make Way for Ducklings statues! If you come during the right time of year, they may even be donning some accessories! Boston Common - Bask in the freedom of the oldest city park in the United States. Cheers Bar - Where everybody knows your name. Beacon Hill - Walk down some of Boston's most historic streets. Complete with original brick and gas lanterns (you can thank some friendly 20th-century neighborhood rioters for those bricks). State House - The State House is about as impres Other things to note Depending on group pace, and time at our halfway break, the tour runs between 2 1/2 and 3 hours. Unlike some other walking tours, I try to cover as much of Boston as possible. The walk is not fast paced, but we do cover about three miles. Wear comfortable shoes. Private Tours Can Be Arrange

  • Willkommen zur Freedom-Trail-Tour
You have picked a great time to visit Boston! Boston is one of the most walkable cities in America - it’s lovely to explore on foot. We’ll be walking about 3,000 steps/1 mile. We will meet at a coffee shop along the Freedom Trail. Feel free to buy something there while we get acquainted & start our exploration of the people & events of the founding of Boston & the early years of the American Revolution. We will head out on foot to walk a portion of the Freedom Trail. You will see & learn about the Old State House & the Boston Massacre, the Old Corner Bookstore & the Irish Famine Memorial & the Old South Meeting House - where the Tea Party started. Next, we head up School Street to learn about the Old City Hall & visit the site of the first public school in America. We’ll step into the oldest continuously run hotel in America & explore the rich history of this beautiful hotel. Onto King’s Chapel Church & the oldest burial ground in Boston. We will see the brutalist masterpiece- New City Hall & conclude at the Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market area. You might want to shop or get a drink or meal at one of the many restaurants & bars at the end of the tour. I will share recommendations for things to do & places to eat. Join me to explore Boston & the Freedom Trail. Boston is a beautiful city - rich in history & stories that I want to share with you! Other things to note Whether you are a history buff or just interested in learning more about Boston, join me for a few hours to expand your knowledge of the city in general and the Freedom Trail specifically, including the events of the early Revolution here in Boston.

  • Die Hexen-Hysterie in Salem von 1692
Salem is a beautiful, historic city best known for its tragic 'Witch' Trials. Our walk and talk will provide an overview of our history, from our founding in 1626 to the Witch Hysteria of 1692, to the current day, with some sites from Hocus Pocus tossed in. The tour length is 2 hours depending on the interaction and the pace of the group, and we'll cover about 2 1/2 miles. As a resident, I can share a local perspective to help bring Salem alive for you and help with any tips that may make your visit more enjoyable. Our tour is historical, but I will sprinkle in a few legends and hauntings along the way. If the dates/times of the tour posted do not work for you, drop me a note and I will try to accommodate your travel plans. Just for fun, tours offered at night will include some 'ghosty' kind of stuff as well. I realize not every guest has the mobility for a tour this long with no seating options. If you'd prefer a shorter tour with less walking, let me know and I'll try to make it work.

  • E-Bike-Tour durch Boston!
See Boston from an electric bike ("ebike") in a small group setting! I provide a quality ebike, bike helmet, and water. All bikes have hand brakes and gears, so for safety, all riders MUST be comfortable using both. All riders should wear a helmet for safety. We'll adjust and test the bikes for 15-20 minutes, and then we will set out on our ride. Most of our ride is on paved cycle routes with no cars, some of it in the Emerald Necklace Park designed by Frederick Law Olmstead and on the Esplanade near the Charles River. We will cycle along both sides of the river, under the Zakim Bridge to Boston Harbor. We will stop for lunch and ride back through Cambridge and Brookline to Jamaica Plain. There are a few places where we walk the bikes for 2-3 blocks, so guests need to be able to walk a bit. The tour lasts about 5 hours, depending on how many stops we make and how long we spend at lunch. This tour will allow you to try an electric bike in a low-stress cycling environment. I hope to see you with the famous "e-bike grin" as you glide along! I can accommodate anyone taller than about 4'10" and I have a trail-a-bike for smaller kids. I can often accommodate different dates and times. New England weather is unpredictable so if the weather conditions are not safe for cycling, I will cancel the tour and you'll receive a full refund.
