Was ihr unternehmen werdet

We are excited to teach you you how to create your own unique lei po'o (flower crown) using a woven coconut leaf, flowers and leaves. For this special experience, we will meet in the Polynesian Cultural Center. You will choose your own tropical flowers and create a unique and beautiful custom piece made with fresh flowers and coconut leaf.

First, you will learn how to weave a coconut head and using real coconut leaves. Next you will make a flower piece using tropical flowers that will be attached to you coconut headband.

After creating your flower crown, we will take fun pictures together in the Hukilau Marketplace with your camera or my iPhone camera. Please know that I am not a professional photographer. There are many beautiful backdrops for your photos.

These leis last 3-5 days and will enrich your Hawaii experience tenfold. All of our lei po'os can be seen on our IG page, @oahuleis. We look forward to meeting you!

Note: If you would like to schedules a specific time and date please message me and I will open up the date just for you!

Born and raised in Laie, Hawaii, I have been making leis with my Mom since I was 4 years old. I began my career at one year old as a professional dancer at the Polynesian Cultural Center. I have performed and taught Polynesian dancing all over the world and traveled with the PCC promotional team & BYU Living Legends promoting Polynesian culture on every continent.

We had to make our own lei po'o and costume attire for every performance and share our culture with every audience member. I have a deep passion for my culture and I would love to share it with you.

Since then, my Mom and I started a business called "O'ahu Leis" and we make tropical leis for guests from all of the world. I learned from the best: my beautiful and talented Mom. She has been making leis for 30+ years and has won numerous lei making awards in Hawaii and Tahit

Kiana shared stories about how her own mother taught her the craft and love of making lei crowns. When we were done, we had a beautiful crown of flowers on our heads and big smiles on our faces.

Perfect experience! I went with my sister and 5 year old niece and we had such a wonderful time. Kiana was super helpful in making sure everyone made a beautiful crown unique to what they wanted and especially to my niece who was younger and needed the extra hand. 10/10 would recommend!

My daughter and I had a wonderful time making the flower crown leis. The flowers were beautiful and fresh and even though it was raining a bit during the class we just enjoyed it immensely. It was fun and creative and we learned about Hawaiian culture. I highly recommend it.

It was a great experience, learned a lot about the culture and the Polynesian Culture Center from Kiana. The flower crowns lasted for days following her instructions.
