In this fun, hands on homemade chutney and jam making workshop we will teach you how to make a range of preserves including chilli jam, tomato chutney, aubergine chutney and chorizo jam. (For non meat eaters we can change the chorizo jam for another chutney or jam of your choice) Using recipes passed down from my great grandmother, you will learn about the art of making homemade preserves and be shown tips and tricks to get the best results when preserving vegetables.
Starting with a brief history of preserves and different techniques used, you will make several chutneys, pickles and jams which we will sample in our tasting session at the end of the workshop.
In the final part of the workshop we will sit down to eat some delicious freshly baked homemade sourdough bread and a selection of homemade chutneys, pickles and jams we have just made in the workshop along with some homemade cheese. There will be an assortment of herbal teas and infusions, cafetière coffee, homemade hot chocolate and infused water.
