Tampere is well-known for its’ observation towers and Moomin Museum, but there is a lot more to discover here. Together we’ll walk around the centre and nearby areas of Tampere and discuss the past, the present and even the future of the city. The tour can easily be adjusted according to your personal wishes and interests, and the weather conditions.
Firstly, we will pass by two magnificent building of National Romantic architecture style. Then we will get familiar with Tampere’s industrial past, by visiting old Finlayson factory buildings, which now house Worker’s Museum and contemporary art galleries. We will even go inside one of those buildings to see something really exceptional! Additionally, we will look the residences of the owners of the factory, as well as visit old Stable Yards with adorable wooden houses.
Secondly, we will visit some picturesque locations to see great lakes of Tampere, relaxing parks and classic Nordic architecture. We will walk through the main boulevard to see weirdly-shaped library building, place where Soviet leaders Lenin and Stalin met for the first time, and end up on the market square. From there we will go to the see Orthodox church, and then we will end up on the top of the tallest living building in Finland.
