On offer is a jam-packed immersion into the unique bushland of Western Australia that does not require hours of driving but is conveniently located in the Darling Range only 35 minutes east from the Perth CBD or 20 minutes from the airport.
After arriving at the Rural Landscape property you will be guided through a 30 minute bush walk highlighting the natural features of the environment and interesting facts about First Nation people and colonial settlement. The bush track passes through an abandoned quarry that provided stone to build the roads for the foundation of the state. A moderate level of fitness is required to go up slight inclines but several stops along the way are included for photography.
You will be rewarded upon return with light refreshments of Billy Tea and pumpkin scones, which was traditionally enjoyed after a day on the land.
To conclude the experience you will create your own souvenir canvas print inspired by your walk.
Trenton Harris, a contemporary landscape artist will demonstrate the screen-printing process, with templates available to form the basis of your print. He will provide hands-on guidance to complete your personalised canvas, showing how to creatively apply a choice of paint colour to represent your experience in the Helena Valley bushland.
