Was ihr unternehmen werdet
We will start the experience on a walking tour to the point where we will start a descent down a stairway to a dry cenote, there we will see some varieties of local plants, we will know their use and importance, we will enter the vault of the cenote where we can see some Local bee varieties in their wild state, it should be mentioned that bees do not sting because they do not have stings.
Later we will walk through a path in the jungle where we will identify the main plants for the production of honey. We will arrive to our meliponario where we will talk about the process of honey coke, we will know about the other products of the comena as well as their health properties and we will even be able to open a beehive to observe the amazing architecture of the bees.
We will make a tasting of honey and other products of the hive. And finally we will visit our small store of honey and souvenirs. Of course we will not forget the souvenir photo at the end of the experience.
It is necessary to wear comfortable shoes for walking and closed shoes. Use organic mosquito repellent.
We are a team of 4 guides, Jorge, Dianela, Gerardo and Julia, so one of us can accompany you in this experience
Other things to note
It is important to consider that it is necessary to be in physical condition to walk on nature trails, up and down stairs. Can use an organic repellent. It is important to be on time for the activity.

I am Jorge, since I was a child, beekeeping has been part of my life, it is the inheritance of my parents, from whom I learned with love and passion the care and conservation of bees; knowing about them led me to deepen my knowledge of the Mayan culture, my culture, and of which I am very proud; Now I am looking to share what I have learned and to look for more local people, Mayan people to be proud of being so, because we are descendants of a great culture.

We have the bee farm in a property that is the inheritance of my grandparents, it is located a few minutes from the center of the city. It is a space where nature and wildlife abound, you can find plants of all kinds, birds, insects, etc. The most special place is the dry cenote, a place full of magic and nature.
The facilities have bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, parking, hammocks to rest, WiFi, a small shop and much more.

This tour was a highlight of our trip- we loved learning about the natural habitat and meeting some of the bees and various living species that make up this beautiful place. The host was friendly, well-informed, and passionate about sharing her knowledge of the land. The honey itself was incredible, too!

What a lovely experience, truly. Our guide (we can't remember her name!) was so sweet and knowledgeable. The bees of Yucatan are quite fascinating. This was a highlight of our time in Valladolid! I highly recommend it.
(We also loved the bitter orange honey drink!)
Very kind people, we arrived late due to a later meal, and there were no problems.
What to expect: We began the tour walking down to the dry cenote and being shown a couple plants and different hives. After, we walked to a collection of hives to see inside the bee structures. The tour finished with a honey tasting!

This was a wonderful experience. Our guide spoke English well. He was knowledgeable and friendly. We were shown several species of bees. The tour of the dry cenote was peaceful and informative. After the tour we were invited to a honey tasting. We were giving a refreshing drink consisting of cool water, lemon, and sweetened with honey. Several types of honey were sampled. The tour was a comfortable pace and a great value. Definitely recommend taking this tour.

It was a very informative tour about the native bees in their natural habitat. I enjoyed the tour and how they show you footage of the bees behavior and the up close experience with the bees. I also got to taste the different products produced by their bees. It was definitely a great way to spend the day at the beautiful town of Valladolid. After the experience I went to the near by cenote. If you have time and enjoy learning visit this place!

This was SUCH a cool little tour. We booked it in the AM before we had to leave town. The host of our tour, Daniela, was so knowledgeable and had excellent English. The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed learning about the bees. It was also conveniently right in town, we we were able to walk to it from our AirBnB (about a 30 min walk). The gift shop had some lovely little honey-based gifts for purchase.
