I will meet with my hiking group at St James’ Church, in Glenbeigh village, just 50 metres off N70 road - Ring of Kerry, at 10:30. From here we have to drive 10 more minutes to the hike start point. Please, bring your own transport.
After I have made sure they have the right hiking footwear and warm-comfortable clothing for a Hill-walk, I will discuss our day with them and show them our route clearly on the map.
We will start our 5.5 hours walk together at a leisurely pace and I will make sure that everybody is comfortable and happy. We will stop at regular intervals for people to enjoy the scenery, to take pictures, and have some food and drinks.
During the walk I like to talk with my group about flora & fauna related to the area, and sites of interest such as standing stones, stone circles or ancient dwelling places.
Itinerary: With start/finish point at Mountain Stage, we will walk on The Kerry Way trail with views of the Atlantic Ocean and Dingle Peninsula during the whole hike. After one hour we will go up to Beenmore (670 metres) & Drung Hill (640 metres) summits, after lunch break there is a gentle way down to the finish point.
The walk will be a distance of 13 km, total height gain 800 metres, and taking about 5.5 hours to complete.
