Swing by my studio in the Lena Street Lofts (a super cool arty area with great coffee) and I'll teach you how to take great portraits of your dog. Dogs are very welcome, of course! We'll go over the basics of lighting, dog handling, flattering angles and working with whatever camera you have - it can be an iPhone, DSLR, or film camera. I'll also introduce you to my local printer so that you can select an image from our class to get printed while you're in town.
The beginning of this class will go over how exactly to get the most out of your camera - whether that's a Canon, Nikon, film, digital or just iPhone. Then I'll show you some techniques that no one else talks about - how to work with dogs in a totally calm, collected way to get the results you want. If you bring a dog with you, we'll use them as a model!
Then it will be your turn to try out your new knowledge. I'll have a shooting area set up in my studio with a beautiful vintage backdrop, lights and a posing stool. Keeping what you just learned in mind you'll get to use my studio to create your own great dog portraits (with my assistance, of course).
To wrap it up we'll go over what you shot, talk about what worked, what was challenging, how to improve and you'll be on your way to a new world of great dog photography.
