Was ihr unternehmen werdet
I would love to share the experience of a Shinrin Yoku-walk with you and maybe even inspire you to continue the practice on your own! Spending time in the forest, or the nature, in a mindful way, is proven to be good for your health. And it is good for more than the individual. As more people develop an embodied awareness of their relationship and oneness with nature, humankind will be better qualified to deal with the ecological challenges of our time. Two walks are never quite the same, but the ANFT walks have a standard frame: At the start of the walk, we gather in a circle. I will talk you through a sequence of simple invitations that may awaken your senses, slow your pace and make you feel more present in the moment. From then on, we will be moving very slowly over short distances. From time to time, I will call you to the circle where you will be given new invitations to explore different aspects of nature and your own senses, in your own way. And where you may share your experience with other participants, if you wish. Finally, I will invite you to a simple tea ceremony in the woods - before we return to the other, everyday life. There is no "right or wrong" in this experience. Each individual explores with his or her senses their own relationship and experience. It is all between you and the forest.
Experiencing and deepening my relationship with nature through an approach of slow walking and awakening senses has become a passion for me. By learning about the Shinrin Yoku-approach and entering the training provided by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy, I am delighted to invite participants to experience nature in a way they may never have done before – within the structure developed by ANFT. The trails I offer you to experience with Shinrin Yoku Laerdal are not on the tourist map. We go deeper, in more than one way. I have lived in Laerdal since the late 1970s but was born and raised in Oslo. Among other subjects, I have studied psychology and agriculture. Life's path led me to Hauge farm 23.1. Here, my husband's family has lived for hundreds of years. We keep sheep. He is also an artist and explores nature in his work.
Wo ihr sein werdet
The trails I use for Shinrin Yoku-walks in Laerdal are beautiful and usually not available to tourists. Few other people walk here and we will usually not meet anyone else. Although it may be a bit steep uphill for a short bit at the start, you don't need to be in good physical condition or an experienced hiker to participate in these walks. Let me know in advance if you have special needs that I need to know about.
