Upon arrival at Piha, we observe the severe flood damage as we venture onto the wild black sand beach at the North and South ends to explore the landscapes. We walk among the towering cliffs to find hidden tracks through the native forest. We carefully navigate many a massive sea cave and natural tunnels surrounding the areas. We will see native wildlife such as the Tui's and watch the colourful Rosellas in the forest, then we discover Little Blue Penguins deep in the caves. If we are lucky we will spot a Seal or Sea Lion! A look into the wonderful world of the honey bee on Waiheke. Our family business is the Waiheke Honey Company, and we love bees. We will give you a talk on being safe around bees and what you will see in the hive, the different parts that make up a hive, the life-cycle of the honey bee, the different equipment we use in beekeeping. Then we will put on our bee suits and have a look in some working beehives, where we will teach you how to identify the Queen bee, worker bees and the drones. We will also take a taste of honey straight from the hive. We will see where the baby bees are grown, find the eggs and lava, identify wax and propolis. You will get a full bee suit to wear and gloves, so If you want to handle the bees you are most welcome, but if you just want to observe then that’s fine too. If it's a nice day and the bees are happy and out foraging then we may get to see the bee dance. Then we will have some lite refreshments where you get to enjoy our raw honey on a hot crumpet or toast, honey tastings and any questions you may have on bees. Each honey bee adventurer will get a jar of our wonderful honey to take with them. If it’s wet but the weather is not to bad, then we can do this undercover, but if its windy and wet or a storm then we will have to cancel as the bees like to stay warm and dry like us.

An amazing day learning to surf, at Te Arai beach. Auckland #1 east coast surf destination! Well meet up at the Te Arai Beach Reserve meet the team and get you in your wetsuit, and rash shirt! We'll go through an amazing 2 hr surf lesson! Learn about the waves, your surfboard and controlling it in the water Correct positioning, paddling and timing to catch that wave Then into the popup, surfing stance and surfing down the face of the wave Once you've got the basics we hit the water and are right there with you coaching you through each and every wave You'll be improving every attempt riding waves towards the beach and down the line of the wave. Proper surfing! Once your up and riding we'll quickly move into surfing down the wave and show you how to go faster and turn your surfboard on the wave! After the 2hr Surf Lesson youll have a 5 min break to rest, hydrate, sunblock up Then youll keep your surfboard and wetsuit and can carry on surfing after your lesson for another 2 hours, practicing what you just learnt to master the techniques.
